After graduating from Franklin and Marshall College with a Bachelor’s degree in English, Ms. Friedman attended law school at the University of Baltimore School of Law where she obtained her Juris Doctorate (J.D.). During law school, Ms. Friedman participated in the Appellate Practice Clinic where she argued before the Maryland Court of Special Appeals. Also during law school, Ms. Friedman held several impressive internships. First, she interned in the Circuit Court of Maryland for Baltimore County for Judge Robert E. Cahill. Then she worked for two different prestigious criminal defense law firms: Warnken, LLC and The Law Offices of Richard M. Karceski.
After graduating from law school in 2008, Ms. Friedman was admitted to the Maryland Bar. The year following her graduation from law school, Ms. Friedman served as a Judicial Law Clerk on Maryland’s highest court, the Court of Appeals, for The Honorable Joseph F. Murphy, Jr. Upon completion of her clerkship with the Court of Appeals, Ms. Friedman practiced as an attorney at the Social Security Administration. There she served as an Attorney Adviser to the Appeals Council, reviewing Administrative Law Judge’s decisions in Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) cases and preparing orders and decisions for Administrative Appeals Judges.
In 2014, Ms. Friedman began working for Zirkin & Schmerling Law. Ms. Friedman’s primary areas of practice were criminal defense and serious/jailable traffic offenses. At Zirkin & Schmerling Law, Ms. Friedman has also handled cases in various other areas of law including protective orders and peace orders, car accidents, dog bites, and other injury related civil litigation, and contract disputes.
Several times a month, Ms. Friedman used to serve as an Appointed Attorney representing defendants at bail hearings.
Ms. Friedman joined Client First, LLC in 2018. Ms. Friedman’s areas of practice are primarily criminal defense, serious traffic cases, and DUI/DWI cases all across the State of Maryland. In 2017, Ms. Friedman successfully completed training for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) as part of the DWI Detection and Standard Field Sobriety Testing Student Course. This is the same training police officers receive.
